The Travel Planners category allows the account holder to view and designate travel planners authorized to make travel arrangements on his or her behalf. An account holder may designate one or more travel planners.
When designating a travel planner, the account holder must designate an individual who has an established ResX account. For instructions on how to request an account, click here.
To access the Travel Planners screen:
- Click on Profile located at the upper left near the Caltrans logo.
- Click on Travel Planners to open the screen.
To designate a travel planner:
- Click the Add New Travel Planner link.
- In the Member's ID column enter the travel planner's employee ID number without the 's'.
- Click SAVE.
The travel planner's first name, last name, and employee ID number should appear on the Travel Planners screen.
Plan Travel for Others (Travel Planners)
Employees authorized to make travel arrangements for other employees are referred to as travel planners. All travel planners require a ResX account. To request a ResX account, click here.
A travel planner can request airline, rental car, and hotel reservations only for employees who have added him or her as a travel planner in their personal profiles.
Select the Traveler
To make travel arrangements for an employee traveling on State business, the designated travel planner should:
- Login to ResX using his or her personal account.
- Click the Air Icon.
- In the drop down list under Viewing profile for: select the appropriate traveler. The list will include the names of up to ten (10) travelers. If the travel planner is authorized to plan travel for more than ten employees and the traveling employee's name does not appear on the list, the travel planner should scroll down to the bottom of the list and click Select another user. Enter the traveler's employee ID number without the 's', click NEXT, and select the traveler's name.
- Once the appropriate traveler has been selected, the reservation process may begin.
